A Short Body Scan to Cultivate Mindfulness

This practice is excellent for relaxing your body and focusing your mind. It just takes a few minutes and is safe, so it can be done by adults and children.

Put your full attention on the part of the body being concentrated on. If thoughts intrude, don’t get upset, just return to noticing the body part.

ALWAYS give yourself at least 30 seconds to 1 minute to sit quietly after any practice before getting up to do your next activity. Jumping up immediately after finishing any practice can be very jarring to the system.
